DOT SAP Evaluations| Remote Services Available
Issendorf Psychotherapy, LLC provides professional DOT Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) evaluations for safety-sensitive employees who have violated federal drug or alcohol regulations.
Elena Issendorf, LCSW, is a qualified DOT Substance Abuse Professional offering initial SAP evaluations, individualized education and treatment recommendations, follow-up evaluations, and guidance through the DOT return-to-duty process.
Remote evaluations may be available to eligible clients nationwide, subject to applicable federal and state requirements.
How the DOT SAP Process Works
1. Initial SAP Evaluation
The process begins with a comprehensive evaluation by a qualified Substance Abuse Professional to assess the circumstances of the DOT violation and determine appropriate education and/or treatment recommendations.
2. Education or Treatment
The employee completes the education and/or treatment recommended by the SAP.
3. Follow-Up SAP Evaluation
After the recommended program is completed, the SAP conducts a follow-up evaluation to determine whether the employee has demonstrated successful compliance with the recommendations.
4. Return-to-Duty Testing
If the SAP determines successful compliance, the employee may proceed to the employer-administered return-to-duty testing process. A negative return-to-duty test is required before resuming DOT safety-sensitive duties.
5. Follow-Up Testing Plan
The SAP establishes a follow-up testing plan in accordance with DOT regulations. The employer is responsible for implementing the plan.
Completion of the SAP process does not guarantee employment or reinstatement.
